Directions for the Detour to the Restigouche River Lodge
From Trans Canada 2 East or West
Than Driving from Saint-Léonard, New Brunswick
These are the directions to the Restigouche River Lodge for guests who are driving from the Trans- Canada 2. Traveling West from 95 and Houlton Woodstock NB, Canada or East on Trans-Canada 2 from Edmundson, NB. Arriving at the Rt. 17 junction, Saint-Leonard.
At the St Leonard exit from Trans-Canada 2 take Route 17 towards Campbellton, NB. The Restigouche River Road is closed from the Evergreen Road turn off at Dawsonville or Glen
Levit. Evergreen Road makes a long loop off an back on to Rt. 17. Driving past both of these turnoffs, you will soon come to a red roof fire house on your right. There will be a small white church St. Anthony’s on your left. Flatlands Road is just past the church and you need to turn left there. Flatlands Road winds and dips, just stay on this road and

The Restigouche River Lodge is about a 12-hour drive from New York City, NY. The lodge is easily accessible by highway from any major US or Canadian cities. For Google map directions to the lodge lodge click here
Stop Over Lodging
The RRL suggests the Katahdin Valley Motel in Sherman, Maine as a nice stay over spot for guests traveling by car through Maine on Rt. 95 to the lodge. The Motel is just 38 miles from the border crossing in Houlton Maine and from the crossing you are only 3 more hours to the lodge. The Motel is located on the south side of Rt. 95 off on exit 264 and under the highway on your right. After you nights stay and just back again under Rt. 95, on your left is a gas station with a small diner severing a nice homemade breakfast. It’s a great Sleep, Eat and Go. At the Katahdin Valley Motel let them know that the Restigouche River Lodge had recommended you.

Connecting flights to and from Bathurst Airport
The drive from Montreal is 8 hours to the lodge.
Renting a car is another option when flying into Montreal and completing your trip to the lodge.

Rental cars are available and to the Lodge it is about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive.

Traveling by train might be a nice change of pace for those that have the time. Train travel is available from most major American and Canadian rail road stations via Montreal, Quebec and Arriving in Matapedia which is ten minutes to the Restigouche River Lodge. Contact Am Track or Via Rail for time schedules and ordering your ticket. Have a safe and enjoyable trip to the lodge.
